Environmental Policy

Examples of the action we are taking within our Environmental Policy include:

 

Water Usage

Watering of the nursery & garden centre is carefully monitored according to season. Where possible, plants are hand watered during the early morning, when evapo-transpiration is at its lowest.

 

Product Sourcing

Blackbrooks Garden Centre regularly reviews its supplier policies and gives preference to suppliers offering products that are locally produced. We regularly visit suppliers and the major trade exhibitions to enable us to research new products that will reduce the impact on the environment.

 

Waste Production

Recycling of all waste products is encouraged by Blackbrooks Park Nursery. Green waste, produced from various nursery, garden centre and site maintenance operations is composted and used to top dress the flower borders around the site.
